The Beatles played in Aberdeen

Oddly Aberdeen's famous Beach Ball Room didn't get its name from its distinctive roof. On the 6th of January 1963 the Beatles almost had to cancel a concert at the venue as Ringo had forgotten his drum kit. The name arises from Ringo quickly improvising with a beach ball he stole from a kid onthe promenade.
